Motu awards Sir Frank Holmes prize to top economics student

Every year, we give out The Sir Frank Holmes prize to encourage and support top quantitative economics students to further their studies in econometrics at graduate level.

This year we awarded the prize to Jessie Zhang, who is studying at the University of Auckland.

Jessie intends to study an Honours in Economics at the University of Auckland, with a dissertation on how behavioural economics can be used to improve outcomes in education (such as having more student engagement, better student performance or socially optimal levels of investment in education). Motu awards scholarships yearly to help build New Zealand’s research capacity in economics and public policy.
