Denny Ellerman is a Senior Lecturer at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is an internationally recognized expert on energy and environmental economics with a particular focus on emissions trading.
He is a co-author of the leading book on the US SO2 Trading Program, Markets for Clean Air, and co-editor of Allocation in the European CO2 Emissions Trading Scheme: Rights, Rents, and Fairness.
Before his appointment at MIT in 1992, Dr. Ellerman worked for Charles River Associates, the National Coal Association, and in the US government at the Department of Energy and the Executive Office of the President. He is a past President of the International Association for Energy Economics and he earned a PhD in political economy and government from Harvard University.
